Band of Angels Brings Billy Joel’s Saxophonist to Students at Platte County High School
Mark Rivera, the longtime saxophonist for Billy Joel, went to visit Platte City High School’s Jazz Band. There he jammed with the students, offered his personal words of wisdom, and met a talented budding trumpeter, Josh. “Getting to play [with Rivera] was really spectacular.” He remarked, and Rivera loved all the kids’ energy and enthusiasm for music. Band of Angels works towards supporting children throughout their breadth of music education, and we always look to foster opportunities like this to enrich the musical education of students.
