The entire Marching Cobras paraded through downtown KC streets to Crown Center to meet with parents, teachers and supporters for a special celebration. The Marching Cobras have been a mainstay of Kansas City parades for 50 years, and to celebrate this inner-city drum line’s achievements, Band of Angels surprised the group with all new equipment!
Their faces lit up, and they eagerly played their best for the crowd with the shining, all-new drums, mallets, equipment, and an updated mascot. “We want to help send the Marching Cobras into the next 50 years.” Mike Meyer, Band of Angels Chairman, stated at the presentation. Even after playing hard for the crowd in the summer heat, the Marching Cobras couldn’t wait to keep practicing on their new drums.
