For School Directors:

Can I get a set of instruments for my whole class?

Band of Angels assists many schools over a large area. Our goal is to provide instruments for one or two deserving students in need per school director. We do not have the resources to provide instruments for an entire class.

For Parents and Students:

Do I ever have to return an instrument I receive?

The instruments Band of Angels provides to students are theirs to keep for as long as they’d like. We do ask that any instrument recipient who is no longer playing return the instrument to us, so we can provide it to another child.

I just filled out my application for an instrument. How long will it take for me to get an instrument?

Typically, we will contact you in 2-3 weeks after applying to let you know whether or not you have been accepted. Applications that are missing information or are inaccurate will take longer to process and may not be accepted.

Can I apply for both an instrument AND a camp scholarship?

Yes, provided Band of Angels finds you eligible for both. Please make sure you have filled out both applications.

Do I have to pay for instrument upkeep and repairs?

The instrument you receive from Band of Angels is yours to keep, and we expect instrument recipients to be responsible for repairs, maintenance and upkeep. However, we understand that not everyone can afford the expense. Please reach out to us if you cannot afford a repair for your instrument.

Can I get help paying for music lessons?

I don’t actually know?

I need help with my application.

Please reach out to us on our contact page and we will do our best to assist you.

What kinds of music camps can qualify for scholarship?

Any kind of area school band, orchestra or choral music camp is eligible for a Band of Angels music camp scholarship.

Band of Angels didn't have an instrument for me. What should I do?

I don’t know?

For Donors and Supporters:

What instruments do you take?

Band of Angels welcomes these band and orchestra instruments:

  • Cello
  • Clarinet
  • Flute
  • French Horn
  • Guitar
  • Marimba
  • Saxophone
  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Tuba
  • Viola
  • Violin

Band of Angels specializes in providing band and orchestra instruments for students who are unable to join their school’s band and orchestra programs. We cannot accept pianos, organs, electronic keyboards, or drum sets.

Will you accept a broken instrument?

  • Yes! We accept instruments in ANY condition.
  • Instruments that can be repaired are restored to playing condition before given to a child.
  • If an instrument is beyond repair, we recycle the instrument into a work of art for our charity art auction, Art That Blows. The proceeds of that auction benefit our summer music camp scholarship program!

Do you take any other kinds of donations?

We accept monetary donations as well. Visit our donation page for more information.

I have a donation but I am unable to drop it off. Can you pick it up?

We currently lack the resources to offer pickup for most instrument donations. Please contact us to give us more details about your situation if you think your donation merits a pick-up.

How can I help out?

Band of Angels always welcomes a helping hand. We are in need of volunteers for our main fundraising events, the Heart Strings Gala and Art that Blows, as well as smaller tasks and events throughout the year. Visit our volunteer page to sign up.
