An Event That Pulls Heart Strings…
The Heart Strings Gala brings our supporters together for an evening of fun and fundraising. Proceeds are used to fund instrument purchases, provide full scholarships to summer music camp, assist with music lesson tuition, and help develop an endowment that will allow the charity to carry on its mission and work should the organization itself end.
About the Gala
Attend the fifth annual Heart String Gala. Enjoy guest artist George Shelby, sax player on The Voice, with special guest Mark Pender of the Conan O’Brien – Basic Cable Band. Join your hosts The Band of Angels Board and Honorary Co-Chairs Chris and Nicky Getz of the KC Royals and The Amazing Race Season 23 for the 2016 Heart Strings Gala.

The Artist
This year’s signature artist is George Shelby with guest performance by Mark Pender from The Conan O’Brien Basic Cable Band.
With over 35 years of playing, performing, and recording experience, George Shelby has been on stage with a vast array of artists. He has recorded and/or performed live with Beyoncé, Michael McDonald, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Toto, Bruce Springsteen, Hilary Duff, Bono, Sting, Elton John, Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Johnny Mathis, and many others.
The Evening’s Goals
The Heart Strings Gala raises funds to support all of the programs Band of Angels offers throughout the year, including summer music camp scholarships and providing band and orchestra instruments to Kansas City students in need of one.
